Millimeter wave propagation

Study of millimeter wave propagation for high-speed indoor LANs. Wideband characterization of the mm-wave radio channel as a function of the directivity of the antennas and of the location of the radio ports [20, 25, 29, 30]

 

Space diversity

Evaluation of space and frequency diversity performance using a ray tracing tool [18,19, 26]

 

Mobile radio system simulation

Development of mobile radio systems simulators. In particular, development of a DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) realistic simulator and  evaluation of the impact of different propagation environments on system performance [21, 23]

 

CDMA systems

Code synchronization and performance of W-CDMA and spread-spectrum systems [5, 10, 11, 12]

 

Health hazard of e.m. field exposure

Evaluation of the field exposure levels generated by modern mobile radio systems; comparison with existing safety standard limits [4, 6, 7, 9, 16, 33, 42, 55]

Derivation of antenna pattern shaping criteria for urban base stations using ray tracing [36, 47]
